The coward punch….

Posted by:

It is almost frightening to listen to the news on a Sunday morning when virtually every weekend there is a story about a coward punch. The Australia Day long weekend saw two more reports from Orange and Bondi Beach. From all accounts these young victims were innocent by-standers … and even if they weren’t I can’t think of any sort of behaviour which would deserve a coward punch and subsequently causing great harm to the victim or even death.

On a ...

Sometimes we need to prioritise our priorities…

Welcome back to the New Year! I can’t believe it is almost Australia Day already. 2014 has certainly started to fly by!

You may remember one of my previous blogs before Christmas where I suggested you book your appointment with me sooner rather than later, so that we can get your NY resolutions up and running.

I have had quite a few new clients book appointments for this reason, so it has been a great start to the year.

One thing that I ...

I just wanted to send you all a quick note to thank you for following my blog this year. It has been a privilege sharing my thoughts with you, and I hope it has helped you understand some Financial Planning concepts, and inspired you to seek advice.

I would like to also wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas, and hope 2014 brings you health, wealth and many many fabulous times together.

Whilst I plan to take time off between ...

Christmas is a time for giving…

Posted by:

Hello everyone, can you believe it is just over a week until Christmas, and we will be ringing in the new year in a fortnight?

What I love about Christmas is how everyone and everything is so festive, and people are thinking about spending time with their families and looking forward to the joy of giving. Christmas definitely brings out everyone’s generous side a little more.

I came across the story and video in the link below via a friends Facebook post, ...

Health? Wealth? What is your NY resolution?

Posted by:

Gosh, I can’t believe it has been well over a month since my last post. So much for trying to get one out to you weekly, but it has been just frantically busy these last few weeks. Most small businesses I speak with seem to be equally busy, and we are not sure if it is the sign of the economy/ consumer spending improving, or the fact that the election is finally over, or what ever else it could be. ...

Backing a winner…

Posted by:

I am really proud of the industry that I work in, and have met some amazing Financial Planners in my time. Some of which I call upon quite regularly for their opinions and guidance. Having said this though, it really frustrates me to hear how some people feel as though they have been hard done by by their Financial Planner. I’m not necessarily speaking about poor investment choices or high fees, it is more around not receiving the service they ...

What’s your ‘Thought Bubble’…..

Posted by:

… and how will you achieve it?

Ok, let’s take a step back and define ‘thought bubble’. This is a term that my husband uses every time I come up with a new grandiose idea. My ‘thought bubbles’ have been coming through thick and fast recently which have kept him on his toes whilst also keeping him very amused.. or should that be bemused?

My first big ‘thought bubble’ occurred in 2010 when I had the grand idea of starting a Financial ...

F-A-S-T: this 8 minute video may save your life…

Posted by:

Hello everyone!

It’s been a little while since my last post but I hope this new post will give you some food for thought.

I’m not sure if you watched A Current Affair a few nights ago, but instead of their usual crime fighting stories about people rorting the system, they actually had a very scary, yet worthwhile segment about people having Strokes and understanding the warning signs early.

My Grandfather and Father have had Strokes in their life, and I always assumed ...

A Rising Star in our midst..

Posted by:

I love a holiday, but I must say it is great being back in Australia, and being back talking to clients!

I wanted to share with you some very exciting news from Monarch. A few months ago Monarch Advisory Group was nominated for the AFA Rising Star award. This is an industry recognised award for new Financial Planners (less than 3 years in business), who have a commitment to education, the Planning industry and the community. Being nominated in itself was ...

The grass isn’t always greener…

Greetings from Hong Kong!

My husband and I always loved the idea of living in Hong Kong. This is our third visit together and there is something about the craziness of this place that always has us wanting more (more dim sum most days!)..

Some of the things that we just love is that everything is possible, and nothing is too much trouble. From the simple things like giving you accurate directions, to getting anything you like tailor made, or simply just ...
