Introducing my new blog, “Tats’ Thoughts..”

Posted by:

Welcome to the first of many blogs from Monarch Advisory Group. I have spent a bit of time thinking what sort of blog this should be – informative? technical? a ‘how to’ guide? Then I thought the best starting place was to view this from the reader’s perspective, and try to understand what they would want from this. During this thought process I realised that people often go to a search engine for information, YouTube for ‘how to’ guides and they should be coming to me for technical assistance based on their personal circumstances. So where did this leave me? Back at square one!

It wasn’t until I had a catch up with an ex-colleague where, over a wine, I was inspired to get a little more creative and thought the best possible next step would be to have a dinner party with his girlfriend, who happens to be a journalist, and social media is one of her many specialities. Her greatest advice to me was to make sure my personality came out in the blog, and to make the blog ‘real’ – ‘real’ as in my thoughts and experiences. This way, the blog will be more relevant to the reader opposed to a whole lot of industry jargon and information which they could probably already find on line.

So to cut a very long story short, I hope my blog will be of interest to you as I meet new individuals and share with you anonymous snippets of their concerns, stories and experiences. I hope these stories may help you better understand the financial planning world, and please feel free to share my blog with people you know who you think will benefit from my insights.

Happy reading!
